15 August - Saint Tarcisio - Independent Catholic News: Tarcisius was a twelve-year-old acolyte who lived in 3rd century Rome during a time of persecution, when Christians gathered in the Catacombs for Mass. Each day a deacon would be sent to the prisons to carry the Eucharist to Christians who had been condemned to death. One day there was no deacon and so Tarcisius was sent. He was stopped by a crowd of boys on the Appian Way who beat him
