ST. SOPHRONIUS OF JERUSALEM, BISHOP
Patriarch St. Sophronius of Jerusalem was called the Sophist because of his knowledge of Greek. He was an ardent opponent of monothelitism. Many of his writings, including the Florilegium and the life of St. John the Almsgiver, are no longer extant. He wrote an encomium on John of Cyrus. Mar 11
ST. EULOGIUS, PRIEST AND MARTYR
St. Eulogius of Cordoba, Roman Catholic Martyred priest of Cordoba, Spain, slain by the Moors. He was one of the Martyrs of Córdoba. He flourished during the reigns of the Cordovan emirs Abd-er-Rahman II and Muhammad I. Mar. 11
