SAINT OF THE DAY DECEMBER 31
Pope St. Sylvester I bore the government of the Universal Church for for twenty-two years, during the period in which the Roman Emperor, Constantine, built the first Roman basilicas, and the Council of Nicea clarified central Christological teachings. Pope St. Sylvester died on 31 December 335.
