Pope warns against religion as short-lived entertainment - Independent Catholic News: In his homily during Mass at Casa Santa Marta on Thursday, Pope Francis warned Christians against the temptation of a show or entertainment religion that constantly seeks novelty and revelations. He compared that to fireworks that provide us with a fleeting brightness. The Holy Father was reflecting on the day's reading about Jesus' reply to the Pharisees' question on when the Kingdom of God would come, where He stresses how Christians must guard hope every day whilst waiting for the fullness of the Kingdom.
