St. Mother Maria Guadalupe Garcia Zavala ~ Mother Lupita, she co-founded a new Congregation, which they began on 13 October 1901. It was known as the "Handmaids of St Margaret Mary (Alacoque) and the Poor". María worked as a nurse. Regardless of the poverty and lack of material goods of the patients, compassion and care for the physical and spiritual well-being of the sick were the primary concerns of their congregation. The Mexican Revolution started in 1911 and its effects lasted up-to 1936. during which the political-religious situation in Mexico became uneasy. The Catholic Church underwent persecution. Mother María put her own life at risk and hid the priests and the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara in her hospital. June 24

St. Kunegunda. (1224-1292) Daughter of King Bela IV and niece of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, she married King Boleslaus V of Poland at sixteen. On his death in 1279 she became a Poor Clare at the Convent of Sandeck, which she had founded. She also built churches and hospitals, ransomed Christians captured by the Turks, and served the poor and ill. She is also known as St. Kinga. Her cult was confirmed in 1690.  June 24
