ENGLISH SPEAKING SAINTS NOVEMBER 24 St. Colman of Cloyne. He was born in Munster, Ireland, son of Lenin. He became a poet and later, royal bard at Cashel. He was baptized by St. Brendan when he was fifty years old with the name Colman. He was ordained, and was reputed to be St. Columba's teacher. He became the first bishop of Cloyne, of which he is patron, in eastern Cork. St. Eanfleda, 700 A.D. Daughter of King St. Edwin and St. Ethelberga of Kent. St. Paulinus baptized her as an infant. A supporter of St. Wilfrid, Eanfleda became a Benedictine nun at Whitby as a widow. Her daughter, St. Elfieda, was abbess there. St. Kenan, 500 A.D. Irish bishop, a disciple of St. Martin of Tours, France. He built the first stone cathedral at Danberg, or Duleek, in Meath, Ireland.
