SAINT OF THE DAY MAR. 04 ST. CASIMIR, PATRON OF LITHUANIA Born in 1458, St Casimir was of Lithuanian origin, the son of the King of Poland. He renounced the crown of Hungary at the urging of the Pope, and refused an arranged marriage designed to expand his realms.
