ENGLISH SAINTS JAN 1 St. Fanchea, 585 A.D. An lrish abbess and foundress of a convent and a sister of St. Ends, or Endeus. Also called Garbh Fanchea founded Rossary Convent in Fermanagh Ireland, and was buried at Killane. She was born in Clogher. Sts. Elvan & Mydwyn, 2nd century. Two Britons sent by King St. Lucius to Pope St. Eleutherius to ask for missionaries St. Maelrhys. A Welsh saint, probably a Breton by birth. He is revered on the island of Bardsey, Wales.
